Mock Interviews

Your Experience = Their Opportunity. Join Us.

About the program

Mock Interviews give every Culpeper County 11th grader the chance to step into the world of work and practice their professional skills in a supportive setting. Each student completes a job application, creates a personalized resume, and sits down for a one-on-one interview with a local business or community volunteer.

Students gain experience in presenting themselves professionally, answering interview questions, and learning how to improve through direct feedback. Afterward, they write handwritten thank-you notes to their interviewers—practicing both professionalism and gratitude.

This program builds confidence and communication skills, preparing students for job searches, college applications, and future career opportunities.

QUOTE THAT

“I just love participating in the Mock Interviews conducted in coordination with the Culpeper County Schools and Career Partners.  I think I get more out of it than the students.  I see a tremendous effort by both the students and teaching that is imparted to get the participants ready for a traditional interview.  I become inspired by the next generation.  Most recently I had a number of “rock stars” that after sharing with other peers conducting the interviews we decided we’d hire them immediately.  Two of the students I interviewed played football and I watched them the next week on the gridiron.”
