In 2019, Career Partners introduced a new career exploration opportunity with Manufacturing Day, giving high school students from Eastern View and Culpeper County High School an inside look at careers within the local manufacturing industry.
Students visited local manufacturers including Euro-Composites, Bingham & Taylor, and Cabinet Works, where they saw advanced technology and skilled trades in action while learning about career pathways they may not have previously considered. The experience encouraged students to look beyond familiar job titles and consider the wide range of careers involved in manufacturing.
After a several-year hiatus, Career Partners brought the event back in 2025 with an expanded focus and a new audience. Manufacturing & Construction Day gave interested eighth grade students an opportunity to explore both industries while beginning to consider the academic and career pathways available to them in high school.
Students toured the construction site at Culpeper Middle School, learned about high-performance fiber cable manufacturing at Rochester Cable, experienced cabinet manufacturing at Cabinet Works, and explored quarrying and road construction with Cedar Mountain Stone and Chemung Construction.
By connecting students directly with local employers and workplaces, Manufacturing & Construction Day continues Career Partners’ longstanding goal of helping students discover the variety of career opportunities available within their own community.
