In the early days of Career Partners, a group of Culpeper leaders including educators, business partners, and community members, traveled to Germany and Luxemburg to study apprenticeship programs and workforce development firsthand.
The trip provided an opportunity to visit international companies, explore different approaches to apprenticeships, and see how education, business, and government could work together to prepare students for successful careers. The experience helped shape the vision for Career Partners and provided ideas that could be brought back to Culpeper to strengthen connections between students and the workforce.
For those who participated, the trip was more than an opportunity to learn about international workforce models. It was a turning point that helped demonstrate what was possible when a community was willing to look beyond its own borders, learn from others, and bring those ideas home.
That spirit of collaboration and willingness to explore new approaches became an important part of Career Partners’ foundation and continues to influence its work with students, schools, and local businesses.
