Career Partners’ earliest major initiative was the Leadership & Career Academy (LCA), a program designed to help students identify and develop the skills and interests that could shape their future careers.
The Career Academy gave students opportunities to explore their interests, build essential workplace skills, and apply what they were learning to their own career plans. It helped students look beyond graduation and begin thinking intentionally about the skills, experiences, and pathways that could prepare them for life after high school.
Through Career Partners’ Apprenticeship and Internship programs, LCA students also gained competitive, hands-on learning experiences in local workplaces. These opportunities provided a direct connection between education and the workforce, allowing students to gain firsthand experience while learning from professionals in their fields.
The Career Academy became a cornerstone of Career Partners’ early work and helped establish an approach that remains central to the organization’s mission: giving students meaningful opportunities to explore careers, develop skills, and connect their education to the world of work.
