By the end of 2000, the vision that began with the Educational Summit had taken its next step: Career Partners was officially established.
Early grant funding helped transform the community’s conversations into a formal nonprofit organization with a clear mission—to connect students with the workforce skills and experiences they need to thrive.
While the organization could not yet know exactly what Career Partners would become, its purpose was clear. Students deserved meaningful opportunities to explore careers, develop skills, and connect what they were learning in the classroom to the world of work.
Career Partners was built through the combined efforts of grant support, volunteers, local businesses willing to open their doors, and community members committed to creating better opportunities for young people.
This foundation established the collaborative approach that would continue to define Career Partners for the next 25 years.
